Yarborough, Lunsford named Outstanding Student Award recipients

Sophomores Brady Yarborough and Wyatt Lunsford were recognized by USC Sumter as 2025-2026 Outstanding Student Award winners in their respective divisions, while Lunsford was also named the Overall Outstanding Student for the 2025-2026 school year! Yarborough, who is in his 2nd year with the Fire Ant baseball program, was named the award winner for the Business Administration & Economics division. Lunsford, who played for the baseball team last season and now covers all PA Announcer duties for the program this year, was named the Science, Math & Engineering Outstanding Student division. 
 
 
Background on the Awards:  The Scholarship and Awards Committee Chair conducts voting among the entire faculty for the overall outstanding student and asks the division chairs to conduct voting for each divisions' outstanding student. During the beginning of March, the chair collects these recommendations and sends them to the Dean for approval.  
This year's Outstanding Student Award recipients will be presented their awards at the Spring 2026 Commencement ceremony.
