Bio

Andrew Bartelmo is entering his fifth season at USC Sumter.

Under Bartelmo's leadership, the tennis program has experienced high levels of success academically and athletically. His teams consistently earn the highest team and individual GPA's throughout NJCAA Region 10. The women's tennis team has been nationally ranked in the last four seasons, as well as making appearances in the NJCAA National Championships. The men's tennis team has been nationally ranked in the last four seasons, including time in the top 10. The men's team has earned a bid to the NJCAA National Championships seven years running. Bartelmo has had several individuals nationally ranked while competing at USC Sumter, including an ITA Southeast Regional Champion and an ITA All-American.

Bartelmo's players move on to play at colleges and universities around the United States, including: University of Southern Indiana (IN), Anderson University (SC), Lubbock Christian University (TX), Shorter University (GA), Oakland City University (IN), Columbia College (SC), Our Lady of the Lake University (TX), Missouri Valley College (MO), Lewis University (IL), Converse University (SC), Olivet Nazerene University (IL), and Lander University (SC). 
 
Under Bartelmo's guidance, the Illinois College tennis programs climbed from the bottom of the Midwest Conference and challenged the upper echelon of conference foes. In 2017-18, both the men's and women's programs tied single-season records for overall victories in a season. Miguel Vaca became the winningest singles player in school history while teaming with Michael Connolly to form the winningest doubles tandem in IC history as well.

Bartelmo, a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation and sport management from Coastal Carolina University in 2012. He was a member of the men’s tennis team at Vincennes University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Bartelmo has previously served as an assistant men’s tennis coach at Anderson University, and has worked at the Hall of Fame Tennis Club in Newport, Rhode Island, and the Lesley Joseph Tennis Academy, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
