Fire Ant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams continue outdoor season at Davidson Relays
Fire Ant Track and Field athletes set 13 Personal Bests on the track and during throwing events
The Fire Ant Men and Women Track and Field athletes had another standout performance at the Davidson Relays on March 28, 2026. Despite the seasonably chilly weather, the team garnered 13 Personal Records and 1 Season Best. Bra'rasia Ferrer started the Fire Ant's competition in the mile. Tariq Jones led off the men's team with an explosive 400M finishing 14th overall. The 100M squad was race focused starting with Aden Newkirk who finished third in his heat. Antonio Bing-Cannon, Naydeen Myers, and Kyheeme Lee then followed all setting Personal Bests (PB). For the ladies, T'Najeh Duncombe showed once again that she is an aggressive sprinter posting a PB) 100M performance. Following the short sprint, Irvin Forkpa let the Fire Ant Mid-Distance team with a season best 800M performance, Johnny Brangman and Trendon Johnson followed closely behind with the latter setting a PB. The 200M heats were also impressive for the Fire Ants as Tariq Jones, Aden Newkirk, Antonion Bing-Cannon, Kyheeme Lee, and T'Najeh Duncombe all set PBs. For the throwers, Ethan Morris had a stand-out day PBing in both the Shot Put and Discus. While Sontee China had a PB in the shot put and a solid showing in the discus.
