Fire Ant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field team scored big in the Francis Marion University Invitational.
Fire Ant Men set seven Personal Bests and one Season Best in exciting local meet.
The Fire Ants' Track and Field teams competed in the Francis Marion University Invitational on Friday April 10th. In the Men's events, Aden Newkirk and Isaiah Chaisson both qualified for the final round in the 100M. Newkirk finished an impressive fourth with a Personal Best (PB) time of 11.04 seconds. Chaisson dashed to a Season Best of 11.14. Naydeen Myers raced to a PB in the preliminaries while Antonio Bing-Cannon and Kyheeme Lee had strong performances. Tariq Jones again broke 50 seconds in the 400M finishing seventh while Johnny Brangman opened his 400M college career in an incredibly fast race. In the Men's 200M, Newkirk again set a PB with a quick 22.20 carrying him to ninth place overall. Chaisson, Myers and Lee all set PB marks for the season with Jones racing is second fast 200M of the season. In the Men's 800M, Irvin Forkpa perfectly executed his game plan and finished fourth in a tough field, also setting a PB. Ethan Morris rounded out the day for the men with solid performances in the Shot Put and Discus.
