GAME ONE: USC SUMTER 2, USC SALKEHATCHIE 1
In game one, USC Sumter used a late push to secure a 2-1 victory. After the game was tied at one through six innings, USC Sumter capitalized on an error in the top of the seventh to plate the go-ahead run.
Tatum Swearingen got USC Sumter on the board early with an RBI single in the first inning. USC Salkehatchie answered in the fifth when Emasue Kay drove in a run to even the score.
Abigail McManus delivered a dominant performance in the circle, earning the complete-game win. The right-hander allowed just four hits and one run over seven innings while striking out six and issuing no walks. McManus also contributed at the plate with two hits, alongside Riley Owens, who also tallied two hits. Swearingen led the team with one RBI.
GAME TWO: USC SUMTER 4, USC SALKEHATCHIE 3
Game two saw USC Sumter edge out another close contest, defeating USC Salkehatchie 4-3. The offense came alive in the third inning when Kaitlyn Anderson singled to drive in a run, followed by a defensive miscue that allowed two more runs to score.
Brie Hughey earned the win, tossing five innings while allowing six hits and three runs (one earned), striking out three without issuing a walk. Abigail McManus returned in relief and was lights out, throwing two hitless innings with four strikeouts to secure the save.
Emma Gaulden led the offensive effort with two RBIs, while Riley Owens continued her strong day at the plate with two hits in three at-bats. Whitney McElveen showed patience at the plate, drawing two walks as USC Sumter totaled four free passes in the game.
